Hunter Harrison is no superhero. She doesn't wear a cape, or a lycra suit, or prance around dark alleyways looking for punk-ass kids to torment. But Hunter has a power; the power to control fire. And it is one nasty flame brewing in her soul. In the midst of her senior year, uncovering the truth about her parent's death and how she came to inherit such abilities, and falling in love with a nerdy activist from her school, Hunter finds herself in a battle with a supernatural flame that reacts to her every emotion. Anger, fear, even passion arouse the flame within and Hunter fights to keep her identity secret whilst also protecting those she loves. But being a hero is easier said than done, especially when tragedy strikes and Hunter is forced to make a choice; let the fire take control and seek revenge for her loss, or walk away. But mercy is a bitch, especially when there’s a fire boiling inside her hotter than the darkest pits of hell.

I'm so mad at myself for putting this book down for several times that I almost thought of not finishing it. The first part just sort of weirded the hell out of me and I felt so detached to the characters, but I knew that there's something really interesting about the book which kept me going and I was right. Finishing this book was one of the best decisions I've made as a bibliophile. I'm not even exaggerating. The story was really interesting. The concept wasn't new but the way it was written was really great.
Hunter is a great MC. I loved her from the moment that she was introduced in the story. She may be stubborn sometimes but she's a strong one. Eli is drop-dead gorgeous, at least for me. If you have been reading my blog for a long time, then you most definitely understand my love for nerdy/dorky guys. Welcome to the club, Eli! I really really love that guy. Jack is an interesting character too! I'll admit I had doubts about his character, but I was wrong about him and I'm happy for that. Joshua, on the other hand, was a total shocker. I so did not see that one coming.
I loved the pacing of the story and how it's been told. Honestly, I can't think of anything negative about this book, other than it almost made me cry at the end. I'll give you a hint: Prom scene reminded me of Stephen King's Carrie.
The cover is really beautiful too. What more can I say? Great cover, amazing characters, beautifully-written plot. I would definitely love a physical copy of this book and add it to my collection! This is a must buy for me.

Rouge Volume 1 Isabella Modra Books Reviews
I have never been much into the superman , comic book movies or books but I couldn't put this book down , from beginning to the end never a dull moment left me wanting more. Excellent read
Hunter is not like other teens, since conception she has being mark to be different, special with super powers. A combination of a mysterious life form living on a rock her farther and his best friend Joshua (who happens to be her legal guardian)found on a volcano in Cuba and an engineered disease known as Feucotetanus gives her the power to control fire. Which becomes her curse and her gift. It's up to her to decide what it will be.
Rouge like it name lives up to it; it's energetic. The beginning is so powerful it makes the readers what to keep reading until you find out what will happen to the characters specially Hunter after her mom, Liz, died giving birth to her. The plot is so well executed. Good Vs Evil, super powers, secrets, captivating characters, love, hope, adventure, action, it has everything a good book should have. It has a x-men/the amazing spider-man feel to it. Great story telling. Great Great characters. I absolutely love Eli. He is so cute and sweet but has a inner braveness. Hunter is the perfect heroine, she is brave and caring and kick-ass awesome. I really enjoy reading Rouge can't wait to read the sequel. I want to know what will happen to Joshua. Is he ever going to find out how to control his the evil inside him like Hunter did?. What will happen to Eli? and Jack? Great story 4.5 Stars.
Whoa, what a great story. It's sure to be a hit with the younger crowd as well as us older readers. The characters are believable yet tie into the comic book genre. I truly look forward to hearing more about Rouge. Readers enjoy this great read.
I fell in love with Rouge. An intriguing story. I love a good mystery, and very good character development. Had me guessing! I would love to continue reading her story when the writer continues. What will happen next? Anything!
She was a normal kid. Well, as normal as you can be with your parents dead and your guardian crazy. She thought she was normal.
It started the same night she met Eli. She was so angry at Joshua, her guardian. The stove caught fire. Then she finds out, it wasn't a fluke. The fire was inside her, just like her mom. Will agents take her away? Can she be a hero? Or will she just lose everyone she has ever loved?
Read and find out!!! Great book!!
I couldn't get past the statement, completely out of the blue, on page 24
"I keep wondering why the baby has such high levels of the volcanic lava in its DNA."
There is so much wrong with this. It just made me giggle. It's so ridiculous.
Again, on page 98 "...DNA was made up of part human, part volcanic magma"
I mean, COME ON. I'm ready to suspend disbelief and go with fireproof, bulletproof, flying humans or whatever but lava DNA? Also, this book has tons of typos. Truthfully, I'm about over these free e-books. They're just too silly and too poorly done, I feel like I'm getting dumber every time I read one.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I was engrossed in this book. I thought that the premise was original and interesting. The subject matter was so intriguing that is pulled me right in. There was a great mix of action, suspense, romance and some emotionally gut wrenching secrets, all of the elements I love in a book.
I liked Hunter's character. She is strong but she is emotionally flawed because of what she finds out about herself. Eli was very likeable with strong convictions but very little self assurance. They made a wonderful couple. I wasn't sure about Jack, I kept wondering what his deal was and I was a little surprised when I learned more about him. I finally came to like him.
Now for Joshua.....that man is evil, sinister, crazy and he needs some serious help. He is the type of character that you love to hate, and hate him I do.
The events at the end of the book were shocking and surprising, to say the least!! This is a great story and I can't wait to get into the next book.
I'm so mad at myself for putting this book down for several times that I almost thought of not finishing it. The first part just sort of weirded the hell out of me and I felt so detached to the characters, but I knew that there's something really interesting about the book which kept me going and I was right.
